Please consider forming a team within your church, family, business, or community.

The walk will take place at 10am on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 and will be followed by games and prizes on the OUMC lawn. Prizes will be given for the team with the most members and the team who raises the most funds.

Millions of women and children walk more than three miles

to collect water each day for their families.

Often, the water collected is unsafe to drink and the path is unsafe as well.

When Hurricane Dorian hit Ocracoke in 2019, it was the worst storm to hit the island in 100 years. Fortunately, the water supply was not impacted, but our neighbors in the Bahamas were not as fortunate. Dorian destroyed their safe water infrastructure.

But there is hope. Water Mission is a Christian engineering nonprofit that builds safe water solutions for people in developing countries, refugee camps, and disaster areas - they swiftly responded to our brothers and sisters in Abaco (Bahamas) following Hurricane Dorian.

This year, we will be walking to raise funds and awareness

to help fight the global water crisis.

Every gift of $50 provides one more person access to safe water

and the opportunity to experience God's love.

Together, we will walk to bring clean, safe water to people in need around the world. We walk, so others don't have to.

OUMC is also using "Change for Change" as a fundraiser for the event, asking for donations of coins to help fill our water jug! "Walk for Water" raises awareness and funds for Water Mission, but it is also a way to gather together and put our faith into action as a community. We hope you'll join us!
