She is overjoyed to now serve as Pastor.
Desirée has her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Religion, and Dance with a minor theater from Appalachian State University. As a member of Actor's Equity Association, she has performed, taught, written, directed, and choreographed in professional theater and film, and she currently serves as the President of the local arts and education organization, Ocracoke Alive, Inc.. Her certifications in Yoga, Reiki, and Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy have deepened her understanding of God, the incredible healing capacity instilled within God's creation, and the power of Christ's love to heal broken minds and bodies. She is currently in her third year as a hybrid student at Duke University, pursuing her Master of Divinity with certificates in Theology & the Arts and Weslyan Studies.
A lover of nature, Desirée enjoys traveling, scuba diving, fishing, surfing, hiking, skiing, bike scuds, stargazing, and spending time with her husband, Will, their German Shepherd, Deke, and their Ocracat, Bear. Most of all, she enjoys good conversation, laughter, sharing a good meal, and sharing the love of God.
