Dorian

Ocracoke United Methodist Church is located in the village of Ocracoke located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Our current church building has been in its current location since 1943 when the two methodist congregations on the island merged together to create the congregation we are today.

In 2019, like many other structures on Ocracoke Island, we suffered major hurricane damage from Hurricane Dorian. Since that time, we have been tirelessly working to rebuild our church and community alike.

Thanks to a dedicated team of Trustees, contruction workers and contractors, volunteers, and church members...we are back in our beautiful historic sanctuary and newly renovated classroom and office space! We have been truly blessed by these incredible people and we rejoice in God's steadfast love and guidance during this difficult time.

We're in!

We received our Certificate of Occupancy and are able to worship inside! We now turn our attention to the back rooms of the church, refurnishing, landscaping, and an enormous amount of small tasks and items needing to be purchased. We're not back to 100% but we're getting closer everyday!
